Privacy
We collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what happens when you visit or sign up.
Email sign-up
- When you sign up, your email is sent to MailerLite, the service we use to send our weekly email. It is not stored on this website.
- We use it only to send the weekly Semicon Weekly email. We never sell or share it.
- You can unsubscribe any time with the link at the bottom of every email. MailerLite's own privacy policy also applies.
Referral form
- The Get referred form is a Google Form. Your answers and resume are stored in our Google account, not on this website.
- We use them only to match you with openings and referral chances. We share your resume with a company or referrer only after you say yes for that job.
- We never sell your data. Email semiconweekly.team@gmail.com any time to have your profile deleted.
Visitor counting
- We count visits with GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly tool. It uses no cookies and does not collect your name, email or exact location.
- We only see totals, such as how many people opened a page and which country or device they came from.
Other services this site loads
- Fonts come from Google Fonts, and the jobs, news and events lists load from Google Sheets. Like any website, these services can see your device's IP address when they send the content.
- Job, event and news links take you to other websites, which have their own privacy rules.
Interview Prep bot
- Your typed or spoken answers are sent to our server and to Google's Gemini AI service to be scored. Please do not type personal details into your answers.
- Spoken answers are turned into text by your own browser. We never receive or store audio.
- If you use the bot without signing in, we keep a daily count using a one-way code made from your internet address (not the address itself). This count deletes itself after about 36 hours.
- Answers and scores from guests are also saved with that one-way code, without any name or email, to help us improve the questions.
Google sign-in
- When you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. We never see your Google password.
- We save your answers, scores, topics and any thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback, so we can show your progress and improve the questions. We also keep short technical error notes to fix problems.
- Your sign-in is remembered in your browser for up to 30 days. Press Sign out to end it sooner.
- Other users can never see your progress. Our small team can see answers and scores to improve questions and fix problems. We never sell or share them.
Saved in your browser
- Your browser keeps a few small settings on your device: your sign-in, dark or light mode, and whether you closed a pop-up. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
How long we keep data
- Bot data from signed-in users is kept until you delete it or ask us to.
- Referral form answers and resumes are kept until you ask us to delete them.
- Email sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe.
How to delete your data
- Bot data: open My progress and press Delete my data. This removes your account, answers, scores, feedback and error notes from our database straight away.
- Referral profile: email semiconweekly.team@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my referral profile".
- Weekly email: use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
- Anything else: use the contact form and choose "Delete my data".
